I'm out on Long Island often. Only 'official' parking is the rest areas just east of exit 51. There's a lot of off-ramps that have dirt spots you can park at without much trouble. Just realize the LIE is setup like a Texas freeway with frontage roads, so the ramps are slip-ramps instead of what you might be thinking.

I know of one place you can park east of there, but it's honestly my secret. Only enough room for a couple of trucks. A little diner. Others may know of it. There's a few industrial parks off the LIE around exits 58-60 or so if memory serves me you can park at on the street. Most places, street parking usually has no-parking signs.

As for Bethpage proper, never been inside those limits to know. Good place to park, I've seen it done, is along the ramp from the LIE to the Throgs Neck Bridge, there's a large apron on the shoulder that trucks line up on. Not sure if they're parking overnight or just waiting out an appointment schedule during the day. A lot of the frontage roads do have areas where a big truck can squeeze off to the side and be off the roadway. But, you'd have to just follow along and keep an eye out. There's one spot near Exit 56 that has a wide dirt shoulder with enough room for a truck or two.

Best bet is to ask the customer if you can park there, or on the street. If it's industrialized, you might be able to. If it's anywhere urban or residential, you're probably SOL and will get a ticket if there's an overnight no-parking sign.

Thanks SL, we got lucky and did get Bethpage off that day and he made it to the big parking lot up at exit 2 on I-95 north (by the WS) for the night.

Thanks for the info, no problem on your secret spot, I have a few as well, lol

I just called the two " Truck Stops" that Google found me, just fuel no parking they both said. Long Island has a few million people and probably gets a few truck delivery's now. & then. I guess the two county executives never heard of the need for parking, right ? I am going Monday and will probably look for a Home Depot or Wallmart but even they are becoming truck un-friendly lately

    Where are you coming from?
They just redone the rest areas out on 495 so that trucks CANNOT park there.
    Ghey.
Plenty of places to park. But you'd want to know where they are in the daylight before you go riding around in the dark trying to find one
