Dangerous driver
So I come up behind a HHG moving van trailer traveling at 10mph below the speed limit in the right lane. He has his right turn signal on, so I figure he's going to avoid something in front of him. As we wait for the cars in the left lane to clear, I notice him running over the rumble strip on the right and then jerking back onto the road and weaving. And he never attempts to pass whatever is in front of him. So, I go around him. As I'm easing by, I glance over at the cab window, and what do I see? He has his LAPTOP on the STEERING WHEEL, and is intently reading something on the screen. Never even notices me passing him. Drivers ahead of him told me he's had the turn signal on for the last 30 miles.
Video below. I wish the camera had picked up the scene inside the cab as I went by.

Take that lower left video and enhance it.
You might be able to see him with the laptop.
A little brightness and contrast adjustment might make the inside of the cab less dark.

Samsung SDE-3004N

It's not extremely high quality, but it does the job that I need it to do at a price that I could live with.

I checked out some of what I assume are your videos on youtube. Whats up with the U-turn vid? I wouldnt be putting that up if it was me......just saying

"So I thought I'd be slick and hang a u-turn through a parking lot at a T intersection. Didn't count on that sign post being there on the curb. Didn't see it until I was committed and realized I didn't swing quite wide enough to clear it. Had to back into traffic and pull up, but never touched the post. Lesson learned"

Yes.
It has a built in web viewer, so I got the bright idea that I could buy an Android tablet, connect via wireless router, and have a back up camera system. Not so fast - the Samsung DVR web viewer requires MS Silverlight support in the browser. And Android does not support MS Silverlight (!).
So, I'll have to see about getting a 10" video monitor or television and mounting it on the dash. The DVR has dual outputs - composite and VGA. One is the 'control' screen, while the other is the 'live view' screen - either can be configured for each purpose. The only drawback to using a video monitor is that I lose the touchscreen control capability that I would have had with the tablet, and will need to use a USB mouse or the included IR remote control. The IR remote control would be least desirable, since DVR can't 'see' it while it's mounted in the cabinet
There IS a slight delay in live view mode, anywhere from 0.1s up to 3s (!), but it's immediately obvious so you could compensate by stopping and waiting for the video to catch up to you.

Or you could use those few seconds to GOAL. I think the camera is a good idea for CYA in an accident thats not your fault, but for backing up I am not convinced. Use your mirrors and GOAL, too many drivers relying on technology to do there job for them. Maybe you can film yourself hitting a low bridge because your GPS told you to go that way as well

I'd like to have a camera inside the trailer as well looking forwards AND backwards watching the dock worker.
