Tropicana Field St Pete Fl
Anybody know of a place close to the ballpark with truck parking? I know about the truckstops on I-4 and the south port off 41 etc. But probably going to be too high dollar of a cab ride from most of these places. Any suggestions somewhere closer. Have friday night(7/13)off and would like to go to the ball game--would only be there from about 5pm to 10 or so/ Any suggestions??
Thanx

Get off the exit for Tropicana Field. Go straight through the light like you're going to ball park. Go to 2nd light, turn left on the 4 lane road. About a block down, you will see the newspaper plant on the left. Turn left just past it and park there. Just hope there are no other trucks with same idea. You can walk from ball field from there. For $25, you can park next to ball field. Go to ball field, go to the right just before the garage. There is a large lot for RVs only. You can park there, if bobtail. You can pay $10 to park trailer at old 3/1 truck stop in secured lot. I4 exit 7. North on 301. Paying both those prices is still cheaper than cab. I hope you're routing for Tampa! Go Rays!

Thanx Shaggy--when you say exit for the Trop--(haven't been in St Pete in ages) is that off of 275? or?
coming over from Tampa side on 275. As for others with the same idea--hopefully I will be early enough--last drop on Fri@10am in Plant city so should be able to be in St Pete before lunch--so for a 7pm game hoping far enough ahead of crowd--can't make last drop in Arcadia until 5am Sat.
And as an life long Baseball fan who tries to get in as many games (nationally) as possible--I always root for the home team--How's that LOL

tropicana is off 275. You can see it from the highway. I was just at the Western Star dealer on 301 last week. The old 301 truckstop is being redone, but there were still a couple trucks parked there in the lot. If it's not available, I believe the Tampa truck wash off I4 and MLK has paid parking as well, but it's been a while.

Thanx forty cal--Ive seen it off of 275 also--just wasn't sure if the exit for it is off 275 or 175--so I could understand exactly which streets Shaggy is talking about--if the streets he is referencing are south alongside 275 or east and north of 175--as for Tampa area we have a few customers over there i could leave truck at also--just trying to avoid a roundtrip cab fare equal to next months mortgage payment! LOL--Thanks for info--good to know they are redoing old 301 stop

I'd be surprised if there is any truck parking near downtown. St. Pete sucks for truck parking!
275 runs through St. Pete. the two exits for the Trop are 175 and 375, I believe.
..however, I could tell you about the place in St. Pete I park at when on home time. It's about 15-20 minutes from the stadium and it is zoned for truck parking. Only down side is that they charge $30/day to park there.
If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I can give you the address, truck-friendly directions from the interstate and the phone # to the place.
(and also the name of a reasonable cab company)

You can park behind that Walmart. They sale TB hats in there, too. It's where I got mine.
I'll look up that street I was referring to. I'm looking to go to Saturday's game as well. I'll know tomorrow.
