Yesterday i get to work and decide screw my truck there is a rental on the lot im taking it. I take the rental and for a few hours im doing 60ish because its raining and i forget im driving a rental. then the sky cleared up and i go to make a pass and i don't run into the speed limiter wall and this big ####### rockets up to 72. I was in total amazement at having the ability to quickly pass another truck, and even better shut out that ####### that wants to rocket down ramp and the shoulder instead of merging in then passing. However i quickly got sick of doing 72 (5 miles maybe) and set the cruise to 65, i got sick of changing lanes and then the extra turbulence i guess had the trailer acting like a kite in the wind. It was a fun expierience i envy you fast truckers because the slow lane bites. But fast trucks surely arent for everyone.
quit deriving pleasure from cheap thrills.HA! and no, fast trucks are not for everyone and 72 mph is not a fast truck.if you honestly think 72 is fast, mine would make you pee yourself.don't envy anyone as you apparently CHOOSE to drive a slow truck and seem to be content doing so.kudos driver.

now get back on that throttle and pass all those truly slow trucks and enjoy, waving as you pass them.

Not to mention the fact that is the max speed most steer tires can handle these days.

I'd drive off a bridge from boredom if I had to run 60-65 all day...

Boss castrated my truck, I just slam my hand in the door every time I start driving. Gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day, that and easy listening music.

Running 85 feels good but it's not my style... The load dont pay as much as a 15mph ticket so i keep it below 77 unless im passing these people going super slow..

Gary to Joliet is 55 mph terriortory for me
somedays i wish i could keep up to the bullhaulers

oh and that #### pete had a 1271 detriot with 90 series injectors and was always in the shop
6 inch staight pipes no mufflers blk smoke and sparks everywhere

When I drove for Pepsi, I got a rental Freightliner FL70 tractor that did 77 mph flat out. It was fun. Not so fun when I saw the DOT heading north on US180 as I was heading south for home flat out in a 65 mph zone. He turned on his lights and made a "slow down" gesture. Luckily he knew I wasn't driving my usual 64 mph dog pile and cut me some slack.

Plus giving him and his partner a free drink at a portable scale set up helped as well.

My truck isn't governed but I don't run over 68 most of the time.
