As long as your running the speed limit or going with the flow of traffic, otherwise slower traffic keep right. If you are getting passed on both the left and right side move the eff over its that simple.

I'm just telling you what happened to me, and even the lawyer said it was a justifiable ticket. The officer wrote both of us the same ticket, just like he was supposed to. The judge ruled the other driver was at fault because they hit the rear-right side of my trailer. But when I asked he said that it is failure to yield to merging traffic. Many people think that it is only for the people coming on the ramp. He also said if I had hit them with the front half of my truck, then I would have been at fault because I would have had proper time to adjust my speed to safely let them in. Exactly what the law states.

I also was a LEO for 2 years before driving a truck and we were taught this at the academy.

And just because they taught u that at driving school doesn't make it the legal way.

Trucks don't need to be on the road if they can't do the speed limit...

If they are in front of me id let them in but if they are riding along side of me when they should be accelerating or braking and i can power up to get out of the way thats what ill do if they end up in the breakdown lane thats on them.
Everyone of us has had that car right by our door doing 45-55 and then they have 50 ft left and decide oh crap let me speed up and cut this truck off. Most of us will move over or maintain speed how many of us will honetly slow down because that person isnt paying attention i know i dont unless its a truck, bus or i see children.

I get the hell out of their way.. I don't want to be sitting there for 7 hours to explain what happened.. Then get terminated by the company.. I have been out here a while now and I know it is always the trucks fault even in the companies safety department.... and shc is right. if they don't yeild and you are invovled in an accident you will be ticketed.... next time you are at scale house and get called in ask the trooper who would get a ticket.. His answer will be both.. and you will get to take time out of your life to go sit in line for a post accident drug screen. Its not worth the fun of pushing them off the road.. and god forbid he gets right in front of you and locks up his brakes while you are accelerating and you hit him in the rear.. Then even though you were legally right.. he got infront and he gets no ticket..
