mine does triple digits but i rarely go over 5 over where it comes in handy is when ur in them states where the speed limit is 75 and your doing 80 just trying not to get run over or when ur running with a cattle truck in texas at night doing 90+mph thats always fun and make good time to but u can just watch the fuel gauge drop
EZ Money and Maria Joseph Thank this. -
after 2 years in a 65.5 mph truck, being de-neutered is very liberating. I'm not governed, but I mostly run between 65 an 70. And I find it amusing when i get passed in a construction zone by a Swift or Prime truck only to see them pulled over a mile up the road for speeding
Oversizeload Thanks this. -
Blame the slow trk's on fuel prices, All the inexperienced drivers coming into industry, and Big fleets and ATA. The small companies and drivers with wide open trk's put the big boys at an economic disadvantage so they say. So they keep trying for a national 65mph speed limiter mandate on trk's. Ask our fellow drivers up in Canada how that's working?. they say it's a cluster f#$@k up there. you figure it up 65 versus 75 if run 10 hrs a day for 6 days that's 600 more mi a week, 2400 more a month. almost 30,000 mi more a year potentially. If your a company driver. That's a big pay cut. Of course operating costs go up. That's why I like doing my own thing. If I got to go then i'm back To running the left lane and I'll leave your doors at my next stop BECAUSE THERE'S NO FEELIN LIKE PETER MOBILIN IN A 379!.

It amazes me the amount of drivers who think 75 is a fast truck....75 is nothing....lol!
I used to drive an old classic xl freightliner that was clocked at 116 mph by a Texas trooper.
Those old mechanical yellow motors were the sheet back then.Last edited: Nov 22, 2012

Unless I'm in a 55 mph zone, I run 60/62,
trucks pass by all the time, rarely do I pass another
hmmm ? -
I had to laugh yesterday..
I passed a USeless Express truck yesterday coming into the no fly zone just before Carlisle.....I get into the 55 zone so I back it down to about 60 or so then mr big strapper goes back by me....He gets about a half truck length in front of me gives me one flash of the signal then darts back over quick like..
what a man.. -
