certified -vs- not certified
hi im going to be getting my class A cdl through sage trucking and was wondering the difference between certified and not certified I.e does certified mean upon completion do I only get a certificate saying certified. I guess I'm just wondering does it matter or better in my interest if I get the certified or the quicker non certified program ? any help at all will help me - thanks

Never heard of a "certified" program vs a "non-certified" program and honestly don't have a clue what the difference would be. To me, a CDL training facility trains to give you the skills necessary to successfully qualify to obtain a CDL license in your state, either you succeed or you fail. Not sure where the "certified" comes in unless it has something to do with their credentials and what training "levels" certain carriers want to see from a CDL school. there's probably not a nickles worth of difference between the two, but a carrier hiring agent or student loan underwriter may require "certified" to be on the schools accreditation?

They're talking about the school being certified by the Professional Truck Drivers Institute http://www.ptdi.org/schools/
Sage Tech Services was the first school certified by PTDI - or so I am told (by Sage, of course.)

PTDI certification only matters to some companies when hiring new graduates (Crete is one, I think). Other than that it doesn't matter. Especially after you have some experience under your belt, then the school you attended won't matter at all.
If you already know which company you want to work for then give them a call to see if they require a PTDI certified school.
