Usually they will only go 8/10 of a mile then it will kick to driving. Mine does anyway.

Maybe once in a Blue Moon, but usually it is some guy from Eastern Slobovia who is over here to make money (and good for him for that), but doesn't have a clue.
I am all for immigration, but, Jeeze, ASSIMILATE!
I am tired of being, being forced, to be PC! Get with the program, or get out!

tracyq144, I totally understand your frustration. I hate inconsiderate people like this as well. But I've got to ask. Did you go up to the truck and kindly ask them to pull up? FYI, I think they are still idiots and I'm not defending them.

A few months back at the Loves in St Joe, MO, like 9 pm or so, I sat in line for 15 minutes before I finally had a chance to get pulled up. Just rude asss drivers that didn't pull up. When I finally got to the pump I looked over some dude in a Sherman Williams truck is setting in his drivers seat, opening a can of food. I lost it. I bailed out my truck, almost forgot to set brake and beat on that dudes door. I was like WTF is wrong with you. He said he needed fuel. You've been here for 15 minutes while trucks are backed up waiting and you ain't been out of your truck. He stammered excuses. I told him to get the F outta everyone's way. That's what the space ahead is for. The idiot just fired up his truck and left the truck stop. I was so angry. If he'd have opened his door or especially gotten out of the truck, I'd have went to jail.
That's just plain rude. I usually do good on biting my tongue but I just lost it that night. I mean, some drivers are just plain worthless and all the talking or b!tching won't change them. They just don't care. And if you do anything, in today's society, you're going to be the one in the wrong. When in all reality they need to be yanked out of the truck and slapped around for being such jerks.

I try to be a better driver every day. I literally make a conscious effort to be better, not just driving but in my attitude and decision making.
Here is an example.
So I'm going down US 281 (between Falfurrias, TX and McAllen, TX) and there is this armored car/truck vehicle type thing, you know, the ones who haul money and are driven by rent-a-cops with pepper spray. I'm going 65.5 mph, which is what I'm governed at. And you know down this road there is hardly any traffic, and it's out in the middle of nowhere. So he's doing 65.2 mph.
So I wait until there is nobody in the left lane, so I go ahead and start to pass him, it's an elephant race. So I pass him, wait until there is a good amount of space before I merge over, I don't like cutting people off.
He decides he wants to go 67mph now, so he passes me, then gets over, then there's a cop on the shoulder with a customer, so we both go into the left lane, but he hits his brakes. Typical. Mind you, the speed limit is 75mph!
So we pass the cop, he merges back over, and I go to pass him again, and by this time, there are like 3 cars waiting behind me, so he decides to speed back up to where I'm barely going faster. So I finally get ahead of him, and I merge back right, and I know that there's probably only 4-5 feet of space between us - I cut him off that close.
Later on he decides to pass me again, so I just let him, and back off, and set my cruise at 65.0 so that I won't deal with him again.
Anyway, the point to it is that I could have just slowed down literally .5 mph to begin with, and all that would have not taken place. I wouldn't have put myself in that position to where I'm getting angry at his erratic speed choices. This is called road rage, and I think we're all guilty of it.
I knew how close I cut it, and later that evening I talked to myself about it, and decided that the next day I will not take risky moves like that and I will keep my emotions to myself and re-dedicate myself to safety. That next day I went all the way up from Laredo on I35 and we all know how busy that highway can be, well I kept my cool and made it without anything cropping up.
The moral of the story, if you care about safety and care about being a better person and a better driver, BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF - and if you make mistakes, and are not afraid to stand up to yourself and put away your pride for the sake of others, then you can improve yourself and be happier. I try to do this every day, it's part of my walk with God, and I know I'll never be perfect, but for the sake of not killing anyone or myself, I find it absolutely imperative that I have these discussions with myself about how I can be better.

Geez...Sucks for you guys with this "fuel island" I just pull into a Penske location and get my truck fueled and washed for me while I sit inside and pick my nose. And when I'm not a Penske, we have fleet fueling.....The rough life....I have not touched a diesel fuel pump since July 2009.
