Safty marks and feats. well earned while out on the road. Safty marks earned in the industry
Check it out, I work for a pretty big outfit so everywhere I go everybody tends to think I'm a new driver. Many of times its even the people I work with' even worse the people I work four like my DM's and so on.
I know that's the nature of the beast wene working for a big company. So I figured I'd get in to a genaeral discusion about safty marks achieved out on the road, kinda like the million mile guys.
I know not every body works for companies that give awards, but if you've gone a pretty good strech with out violations or accidents, why don't share it. Its somthing to be proud of and well earned.
I'm sure everybody would gane a little from your hard work, and more so would just like to hear it.
I've driven for over ten years now ,I'm pretty sure I've hit a million miles ,but I've had a few tickets(3), had a couple of no fualt accidents.
But I've recently gone a good strech without any accidents or violations for a good 4-5 years. I'm a local driver around the LA/ So. Cal area so it ain't all easy, considering the CHPn The speed limit, number of cars, and the way people drive around here.
I've never had a scale ticket or been writen up for axle violations.I've just received an award from my company for a two a year accident free mark. I'm sure my efforts will pay me off if I stay on track.
If you've reached a certain safty feat. That you can be proud of, Let's here it, I'm sure every one would like to hear it, but please be honest.Last edited by full speed; 08.31.2012 at 10.45 AM. Reason:: wording

I'd say my faded original paint on my 17 year old truck with no scratched fenders, tanks, grill, etc. that I bought brand new says a lot and I'm kinda proud of my old paint.
On 3rd bumper though due to a four wheeler who tried to cut in front of me on the wrong day and a suicidal Hoosier whitetail.

Thank you- Semi.
That's a great feat. that speaks volumes.
I hope to get more great replies like that, but any will do, I haven't really got much feed back.
check it out.
The no fault accidents I got, were from four wheeler's running into me from the side.
As for the 1st.
Lucky for me, a driver pulled over, and gave a statement to the CHP. This was not only great, but rare. As people will not usually do that.
It most likely saved me some fate, cause most of the time, people will deny any kind of wrong doing out on the road. especially four wheeler's.
The 2nd. accident.
The other was from a guy who tried to say I hit from behind.
You could clearly see the point of impact was on his left side where he hit me, it left a big old three foot dent on the side of his pick-up.
The CHP officer saw right through it. Furthermore, and more importantly, it angered him, causing him to favor me.
Although the reports showed them as being no fault's, it really didn't do me any good.
When I went to go look for a job, my perspective employers just viewed them as accident's.
I had to learn the hard way, I know most of you already know this, but it's always us who pay at the end.
On both occasions I was driving an open rail auto hauler, unlike the cars witch received allot of damage, the truck had steal beams all over it, protecting it from any real damage, but received a little more than just a few scratches.
Other than that though, It felt like somebody took a dump on me, and drove away.
You guys be careful out there, school just started, witch means a triple influx in traffic.
We'll have allot of kids who are just now learning how to drive.
Teachers who hav'nt drove much in the last three months.
And those who just work for the schools, such as administration, janitors, cooks, contractors and so on.
And Although this is good, and it creates jobs, most of these people can care less about you, who haft to drive for a living.Last edited by full speed; 09.02.2012 at 09.36 AM.

Since I work for such a big company I wonder how some of you guys hang in there so long with the same company. I've only been able to hang in two to three years per company I think 4 years was the most I've had with one. Never the less great reply, thanks for the great response .

with the way some traffic is...
Just being able to get home safe and sound to the wife and kids is enough of a safety reward for me.

That's the same mind set I try to carry. If I've gone through the day with out making any body road flinch, scare or piss any body off I've done my job.
