Milk tanks are hollow core. If it is not filled to the lid, it will sloush in all directions more than you can imagine. VERY VERY slow on curves and corners, slow down way before. Learn to drive with the fuel peddle. The brakes are your worst enemy. What happens is you brake hard and the sloushing begins, then you go into a corner with the load moving = BAD NEWS!! Forget about running a yellow light to make a turn, forget about swerving for a deer. Full to the lid they typically run 50 tons, if it's a triaxle slightly more than legal ;). You want it FULL. Weight means nothing, except plenty of slow going on the Mass Pike :) Are you working for Mcdermotts? Garlelick farms in Franklin, MA is an easy run. SLOW SLOW SLOW, no sudden reactions, anticipate corners, curves and stupids. Good Luck!

Honey Bee is correct. Most food grade stainless tankers use as little baffeling as possible because they have to be cleaned and inspected daily. More baffels = more seams and welds for bacteria to hide and grow. Baffeling or compartmenting a tank ( like petroleum of fire truck tankers ) can minimize the slosh to the point of non-existance. At least that's the way it USED to be. It's been a few years since I've driven a fire truck or pulled a food tanker. I have heard that many companies (dairies) are spec'ng out their trucks with auto trannies and super single tires to help fight 'shifting-on-the-slosh'. I hope it's not true. Fleet super single tires, an automatic tranny, 40 tons of milk, and a snowy barn yard smells like a lousy day to me. Read the previous sentence as 'gettin' stuck a lot !! G' Luck
