I am needing help finding out if hauling milk is a great gig? Does anyone have any input on the operations. I know a company that will pay 57 per load of milk. They say this is a drop and hook and that I would be home Daily.. Dont know if this is true??? The longest destination is 75 miles, can anyone tell me with experience how many loads a person could get if everything went smooth. Please help this is a huge decision for me, Thx for reading..

i hauled milk in tx. for about three years was home daily but not for long had 645mi round plus loading dairys and unloading at plant never heard of drop and hook on both ends milk hauling but that doesent mean anything either if your longest run is 75 miles i would think you would be home every day probully not much help but thats what i did if you can find drivers with this company pick there brains

You are talking about hauling milk in a tanker? Going from farm to dairy plant?
What happens when the milk doesn't test correctly? (It happens)
What happens when the tanks are full where you unload?
How long do you have to wait in line to unload?

yes in a tanker if it tests bad for some reason usually took back to farm backed out in a field somewhere and let it out on ground if tanks are full plant down or something you can wait along time just like anything else

The drop and hook is only on the plant side from full to empty, I would have to load the tanker. So far I hear they only have fiv drivers with 50 tankers and the Detention pay would be 16 per hour after the first two hours. How many loads do you think a person can do in a 75 mile radius if everything ran ok? The company says as long as the cows are producing milk than there will be no down time. I dont know how true this really is? Anyone hauling milk for Greatwide in southwest Kansas???? Please help because the company is rushing to get me aboard.

dairys usually arnt bad to load do you know if it's one dairy pickup or mutipule if one should take about one hour to sample and load i had some like this also had some routes that had 7 dairys that'll make a big difference if mutipule will it pay more than a single hope some of this helps

When u say u have 2 load@1 end. How r u loading- that will make quite a difference. Are u loading at a plant--doing farm pickup-- is it strictly milk? Whole milk? Cream--these r all different and can greatly alter ur load in times

I think there will only be one Farm that I will be picking milk up from. I would load the milk and take it to a plant within 75 miles, once I get to the plant it will be drop and hook, Drop the full tanker and pick up empty tanker, I wont be umloading the tankers. I am not sure how many loads I can get having to deal with one dairy farm and one plant? I would be hauling staight milk.
