Hi just wanted to know if an offer of $1.12 per mile is a good rate of pay when fuel cost have to also come out of this rate. Shouldn't it be a fuel surcharge added and not straight out take fuel cost out? Oh yea the load is for Fema

Run away from this rate unless you want to run into being broke real quick....is this load through a broker that is doing FEMA work?

A truck owner offered me this to drive containers from Ala. to Jersey. I would pretty much be sure that it's coming through a broker.

well if your driving his truck and only paying fuel, you can break it down

figure at 6 m/gal 1000 miles would pay you 1120 dollars will fuel rates your looking somwhere around 650 dollars in fuel so take home about 300ish for each 1k miles. On a 3k week maybe 900 takehome. Its got alot of variables, thats just quick math. Lower your fuel costs (better fuel mileage and good fuel prices) will dramaticly change your take home.

Don't do it. Containers are always heavy and 85/95 can be hilly traffic jammed roads. Run far away.

Without knowing what your break even cost is for operating your truck we could only guess. You do know what your break even point is don't you?
