Carry a spare coat, especially if your new to flatbedding...

During heavy snow your coat can get wet and then your out there freezing, I keep a spare coat so when it's cold and mine gets wet, I can just toss on my spare, be dry and warm while my wet coat hangs in the bunk drying out on a hanger...

I carry 2 coats, 2 boots, 3 gloves, etc...if i get wet I can just swap them out and continue my job...

Carry a metal hammer, especially if you drop and hook your going to encounter frozen up brakes and you will need to give them a whack to get them unstuck, simple enough...
