also in illinois they now have open road toll. you drive under the the thing and it automatically deducts the toll. i know in my car it saved me an hour of driving time versus when you had to stop and pay every so often. that is with the I pass but it sounds like they are pretty similar.

we got our I-PASS,,at the south hollend service plaza (works anyplace EZ-Pass works) had it loaded with 200 and it auto refills when it gets down to 100.. no monthly fee...

I got mine when only NY and NJ had them. A few years ago I had to trade up for a new one and the old one I sent back was racking up tolls in the back of the UPS truck going along the Joisey Toinpike.
NY E-ZPass used to be free but now they charge $.50/mo service fee.
Mostly it just makes my inside windshield harder to clean. -
