also in illinois they now have open road toll. you drive under the the thing and it automatically deducts the toll. i know in my car it saved me an hour of driving time versus when you had to stop and pay every so often. that is with the I pass but it sounds like they are pretty similar.

I got mine when only NY and NJ had them. A few years ago I had to trade up for a new one and the old one I sent back was racking up tolls in the back of the UPS truck going along the Joisey Toinpike.

NY E-ZPass used to be free but now they charge $.50/mo service fee.

Mostly it just makes my inside windshield harder to clean.

Illinois Ipass cannot be used in a commercial truck. From their webpage: http://www.illinoistollway.com/tolls-and-i-pass/about-i-pass/using-i-pass-on-other-toll-systems

You can use I-Pass in a commercial truck, all that is saying is that in EZ-Pass states, they require the transponder to be blue to identify it as a commercial vehicle transponder. I-Pass has an entire section on their website for commercial vehicles.

My experience was the opposite. Loaded a small van @ auction that had been used for transporting workers from jobsite to jobsite. Get on new Stanton, sit waiting for it to spit the ticket out. Wait. Wait a bit more. Guy shows up in his safety vest and asks me what is my problem? I sez...waitin' fer mah ticket, sir. You don't need no ticket! You have EZ-Pass. Me: No sir...ah don't have no EZ-Pass. He: Yes, you do! It's been paid already...pointing at the green light indicating an EZ-Pass transaction. He sez...Git outta here...you're holding up traffic! Me; Whadd-I do on the other end??? He: I said Git outta here.

    Budn budn. Shift shift.

Transponder on top of van back in the wagon. Somebody dropped the ball and didn't do their job of removing it before sending it off to auction.
