Okay probably a stupid question but how do you guys deal with all the stupid 4 wheelers on the road? Yesterday i was running short haul just a little 250 mile run round trip. Get on the interstate wind it up to 75 had a car coming up on me while i was coming up on a truck moving 63 hopped out in the hammer lane didnt cut the car off i get 30 feet from the rear of the truck check my passenger mirror and this car is on my right. She then proceeded to cut me off, so close that i couldnt even see her hit the jake gouged on the brakes hit the air horn and she gives me the finger. And takes off running 85. So she takes off running 85 but cuts me off when im running 75? Stop in waco to check my load after slamming on the brakes had a bundle of ties on the top shift tightened them back down got back on i80 get 12 miles back down 80 and again get in the hammer lane to pass a couple cars one was weavig get a little closer and hes splittling the lanes then gets back in the granny lane make my move to pass and he starts moving over towards my truck once twpped the air horn to make sure he knew i was there and both idiots take off. Finally get to my destination drop, leave have to make a left turn to get on 281 to get back to 80 and have to sit through 3 light cycles because people dont know what a stop line is and some blonde in a lexus on her cell phone starts honking. Finally on the 4th time i got through the light, back on 80 heading for home get to mile marker 358 east and a Mitsubishi lancer wants to play games. Wont pass me im coming up on a truck so i speed up he speeds up i slow down he slows down finally passes me after dicking me around get around the truck get back over and this moron cuts off 4 cars in the hammer lane and slows down. Ugh finally passed him at the 380 yard stick get up to the 394 didnt wanna pass anybody so i could stop at shoemakers and get some lunch check my mirror and that lancers riding my arse so id finally had enough kicked my jake on 3 slowed down to 65 moron bout hits me took the exit finally got parked got some lunch too a 2 hour nap and no more idiots on the way home. But how do you guys deal with these morons all the time? Im just frustrated. Fmcsa will shove laws up our ### but god forbid we make it harder for other people to get a licence. I cant talk on my cell while driving but 4 wheeler can. Think we need a #### scene outta smokey and the bandit to get some respect out there on the road from these guys with 4 wheels. Pathetic thing is had a guy in a t660 let me in so i could pass a truck no 4 wheeler would but he did got on the radio bsed with him for a couple miles told him thanks and to have a safe trip. Im finally at the point where i think i need a dash cam and need to send the video to the fmcsa so they know where to place the blame

Is calling the police not an option? This guy was obviously driving dangerously, could have possibly been under the influence.

The problem is nowadays...too many fools driving vehicles anymore and that includes big trucks as well...

it's gotten to a point where it's a joke anymore so to speak to be in the highway...just simply put......

too many ignorant self centered people who could care less whats going on or around them at all!

Well, you either deal with it..........................or you don't. If you let it get to you, your probably gonna find yourself in a situation sometime that might or might not turn out so good for you. Anticipate things. If you break check someone you have to expect that they might almost hit you. Another thought and just my opinion, If somebody cuts you off so close that you can't even see them, I would not take the time to reach over and switch the engine brake on.

I generally yell at them, wave at them in the friendliest manner, call them obama voters, imagine how they would taste all grilled up and slathered in A1 steak sauce, and go about my incredibly boring, mind numbing day.

This is where you made your mistake. When they act like that, I remain fully prepared to push a 4-wheeler down the road while reducing speed in a controlled manner before I risk losing control of my vehicle as a result of hard braking.

Its kinda hard to call 911 when im not allowed to use a hand held cellular device while behind the wheel of a cmv. And yes this is trucking but for christ sake why are we always the ones that have to use the vaseline? And giggles i wasnt taking that as being rude at all. Thank you for your "sorry you had a bad day". I probably wouldnt out be so livid but Wednesday i found out im gonna be a daddy. And everything has changed in the past couple days for me. Now when somebody puts my life in danger things change. Before i really didnt care but everythings changing now ik its a dangerous job and all but it wouldnt be as dangerous imho if there werent so many idiots out there.

well congrats..i think???? one more reason to take a step back and let it go...I KNOW it gets OLD and its not fair...and it still makes me mad 22 yrs later....i still fuss about it too....people are just plain stupid...

i dump at a place here locally ( an oilfield waste disposal site) and a sign at the ENTRANCE says, WARNING ENGAGE BRAIN.....it would be so much better and yes, less dangerous if people had one (brain) and KNEW HOW to use it:biggrin_2559:..the stories all of us could tell about stupid 4 wheelers..and nowadays stupid truck drivers too.....ya just cant fix stupid..

    breathe in, breathe out....woo~sah...
