One goal of this and other trucking websites should be to inform other drivers to help them be better drivers. With that goal in mind, pointing out misinformation should be a positive thing. It is regretful that some drivers are more concerned with not appearing wrong than actually getting the right information.

    http://www.mit.edu/~jfc/right.html

Most states follow the Uniform Vehicle Code and require drivers to keep right if they are going slower than the normal speed of traffic (regardless of the speed limit; see below)

Same website. This is the "see below" the above statement is referring to. It is at the bottom of the page in the link.

    The Uniform Vehicle Code states:
Upon all roadways any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic ...

Note that this law refers to the "normal" speed of traffic, not the "legal" speed of traffic. The 60 MPH driver in a 55 MPH zone where everybody else is going 65 MPH must move right.

Contrast Alaska's rule, 13 AAC 002.50, allowing vehicles driving at the speed limit to use the left lane, and Colorado rev. stat. 42-4-1103, prohibiting blocking the "normal and reasonable" movement of traffic.

(Enforcement for failing to keep right while at or above the speed limit is variable. Toledo police have ticketed truck drivers for driving at the 60 MPH speed limit in the left lane. Police looking for criminal activity are aware of the "keep right" law and will use it as an excuse to stop a suspicious car.

On the other hand, a New York judge announced that he would not convict drivers for blocking speeding traffic, People v. Ilieveski, 175 Misc. 2d 943; 670 N.Y.S.2d 1004 (Monroe County N.Y. 1998), and most police find speeding easier and more profitable to enforce.)

Just a new thread, by another person, dwelling on the same stuff posted and commented on.

Why not put the horse out of its misery and see all the threads by the search function.

So if it's normal for everybody to just go to the grocery store and eat what they want in the produce section and leave, it makes it ok?

Too bad there are people in the right lane going 50. Sorry dude, I don't care what the "official" position is and I don't care what anyone says. I have yielded the center lane to other trucks and struggled in the right lane with all the BS to be found there. No one appreciates it. And I am on just as tight a schedule as anyone else on the road. My freight is just as important as your freight. And I feel zero guilt.

most of your Fuel-savings" guys, and your "elogs" guys, and you "no cb" guys, and some mega-company drivers do not care about traditional driving ettiquettes, or even common sense, the law, or impeding traffic

as one poster already stated, HE DOENT CARE

but let you drive 70 in a 65 and they cry like a baby about how you are a dangerous outlaw
