Maybe I should ask someone at the post office this question, but you guys may know... any time you run across a blue post office mailbox outside, is it guaranteed that the mail from that box is picked up? I am not sure if mail stops being delivered from that location, if the box is removed by law or just sits there collecting envelopes forever. Sometimes I need to mail off more important things and when I see a blue mailbox outside in a small town, I am not sure if the mail is still picked up there or not. I mail receipts all of the time from truck stops that my manager claims to not receive, so I am not sure if that is the mail delivery or something else. Thanks.
Been meaning to ask this for over a year and kept forgetting - blue mailboxes active?

if the boxes weren't being used. they wouldn't be there. i'm pretty sure there is some law somewhere so that people won't be doing what you just asked.

OK thanks. I would hate to drop off mail in a blue mailbox that is never picked up.

there is probably even a scheduled of times on the box door that says what times of the day mail is collected out of the box.
bigkev1115 Thanks this. -
I would also make photocopies of reciepts too, just in case. You can do several on one piece of paper usually, because they are small. This is also a good idea because those carbon laser printed recipts, or whatever they are called. Anyway they fade quickly even not in sunlight, then no good for taxes. IRS doesn't like blank paper for reciepts.

Yes I see the schedule but not sure if it is still active. I have a 3 in 1 printer/scanner/copier in my truck I do make copies of my receipts.

I use them all over the country and never had an issue where the mail didn't arrive at its destination. Carry on!
