This was taken Sunday on the Chattanooga side of Monteagle. It's the second emergency ramp. I have no idea how you make it up the ramp that far? It's such a wienie hill. I wonder what was more difficult for the wrecker...extracting the truck from the ramp or the seat cushion from the drivers hind end?

He made it that far; probably had his tires inflated with helium.

Maybe he was taking pictures while he/she was driving. Opps

I've never seen one go that far either. I wonder if 80 mph would get a truck up that far. The gravel must be at least 1ft or more deep. Hope the wrecker service doesn't charge he/she by the foot to drag the truck back down.
ShootThis Thanks this. -
It must be a very difficult instant ... you know you screwed up somewhere and you're much faster then you should probably be now, you're gaining speed, you're brakes have faded to the point they do little ... and you approach that runaway ramp ... take it and eat a $1,000 wrecker bill? ... or can you make it down? and the seconds to decide are quickly burning up. But as I think about it, in most cases, the choice may be obvious, but you know there has to be a lot of "marginal" situations when the choice is not as easy.
... But as far up as he made it in the gravel, he probably made the right choice.ShootThis and technoroom Thank this. -

Sure hope that driver made the mandatory stop at the top of the hill.
