If you are on BP meds, about an hour before you go in for the test, double up on your medication.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
No nicotine.
I suggest reading nothing.
Go in the first thing in the morning after a good nights sleep.
Mine can go through the roof and not depending on the day.
I am on no meds.
Last time 112/76 with no problem.Big Don Thanks this. -
A lot of people don't realize those 2 cups of Coffee and a massive breakfast isn't the best idea before a BP test

My sister uses anthocyanin supplements. You can find them at natural food stores. 2 capsules the night before and 2 more in the AM before you go in. Make an effort to drink lots of water too. Drink least 4 8oz. glasses of water between the time you take the supplements and the time you go to the physical. Avoid sodium.

Why not just be responsible and go see a doctor and get it taken care of. Instead of risking peoples lives while your behind the wheel of a 80k lbs WMD seriously.

Haven't heard of using egg plant before; it's worth a try.
I tried the double up on the meds a day early and again about 3 hours before the physical and still had to lay in a dark room for 30 minutes before I could pass. Those medical centers shouldn't allow hotties to check blood pressure on truckers.Another Canadian driver, John Dewart, born&raisedintheusa and 4 others Thank this. -
While it's not applicable to the OP since he's going to a company physician, for the independent o/o's out there with borderline hypertension, here's the location of a clinic you can go to, and have a little better "chance" of passing. I won't claim that the doctor lies for you, or does anything unethical, but will simply state that he appreciates the fact that certain situations can influence your BP to go up, even the very fact that you're going in for the exam can! He knows the importance of this test result on your livelihood, and does what is needed to help that driver out, within reason, of course. He's not going to put you out on the road if you're morbidly obese and are going into cardiac failure from climbing the stairs to his office.
