I was recently fired from my job where i was hired as a local truck driver, there reason for firing me was that i turned down loads that were OTR. Would like any info on what i can do.

    Thanks

Nothing. You were insubordinate. Thee firing was 100% legit.

You can't do anything. When you took the job you get everything that comes with it whether you like it or not.

But if you're getting the loads and you didn't sign a contract saying you would not go over the road, what they give you is what they give you. Only thing you could have done was find another job. Instead you have a black mark on your record.

Do you have a signed document on their letterhead that states that you are only required to drive local or stating that you are exempt from OTR runs? Can't imagine you have a leg to stand on without documentation. Did you not know that the company did both? Did they provide a document stating that they were non-forced dispatch? On principal it doesn't seem right but the law typically don't give a rat's ... about principal, only what can be proven.

Evidently they asked him first and you second. What you do is do the run and find another job. You have to do what the company wants. They do don't do what you want.

I wouldn't think you would have a problem getting another local job. Just tell them you have obligations at home where you can't take overnight trips.

Pretty careless to give the OP any "final judgement", with literally "0" details/specifics of his post.

OP, you should have posted this in the Legal Advice category first of all (no biggie tho).
You would need to provide far more details & specifics of the entire case/employment, which sometimes isn't good to do on a public forum.
Even the state you reside in matters, especially for employment law. And no, I'm not an attorney or even close to being one.
Those who asked him further questions have more credibility, tho.

The advice you're getting here is worth exactly what you paid for it.

This one is pretty good though.

You're unfit by choice to perform on the duties required by said company.
Unless theres a contract or a health issued stated they fired you 100% legally
