Well I rolled my truck in the ditch last night. I was on a small two lane country highway with no shoulders and deep ditches. The winds were gusting about 20 mph. Snow was just starting and swirling on the road not sticking. I was traveling about 55 in a 65 at 70,000 gross. Had two semis coming at me in the oncoming lane so I moved over from the center line and hugged the white line so we didn't smack mirrors. When the other trucks cleared me the wind caught me and pushed my tandems into the ditch. I countersteered to pull them back but they had dug in and pulled me right in. Slid on my side about 100 feet. The state trooper decided not to cite me, called it a pure accident. So now I'm on stop dispatch waiting to find out if I still have a job or not. I would hate to see my carrer end after 4 months.

Buckle up everyone. Best decision I made that night and everyother night.

You need to write his boss a letter, letting him know the trooper showed good discretion and judgment that night.

This could've gone so much worse.

At this point you may not have a job. Rolling a truck is a serious no no. But it's good that you walked away and are able to tell is about it. Good luck to you.

oh man... Sorry to hear all that, at least seems that you're alright... Hopefully the company will see it as an accident as well. May god bless you and protect you! and be safe...

I gotta agree, your current company will probably let you go; but since you didn't get a citation your future isn't completely destroyed.
You're DAC might not be pretty, but that's life, isn't it?

    Glad you're OK.
Hence the often used advice of "park it" in bad weather.
    What road?

    Yes, indeed...
Imagine if you had crashed into the coming truck!!! TOTAL DISASTER it would be!
If you lose your job I would say like my Mom used to say, "let go the rings and keep the fingers!" Well you are fine and alive!

Well Im a company driver for England so I have a 50/50 chance of losing my job. I'll be sure to write a letter to the troopers boss. Didn't even think of that through all my self wallow. I'm thinking if I have any chance of getting another driving job it will be with another one of the megas.

This was on US 60 in OK.
