Believe me, I DO NOT invite you back over too soon,:biggrin_25510: after all it's me that would be loosing stopping distance if I did. Geeze.:biggrin_25513:
If the driver had flashed a thank you, nobody would have wondered why they were staying in the left lane soooo long.

I would say, the majority of the time if I let someone know they're clear, they blink a thank you. I don't wait to see their turn signal when they pass. Once they're clear, I flick the lights to let them know they're clear. Usually then do they hit the turn signal and come on over. Doesn't matter on the company on the side either. I've been thanked from Owner Ops, Fed Ex, UPS, Swift, Werner, USX.

Hell I've even been thanked by a dump truck that I accidentally gave the lights to.

Oh and I've also been thanked by a U-haul. :)

The thing about flashing is all drivers are not on the same wavelength. An experienced driver knows to extend the distance and come back when it's safe.

I can't count the times I flashed when clear and the driver thinks it's an invitation to come back over immediately. Then if you wait to flash when it's safe, the same driver gets impatient and comes over prematurely.

I try to use a happy medium, but I never flash when clear for all the inexperience out there. It's more of a courtesy. I could survive without flashing as I come back over when I'm ready. 4 wheelers might not like it and shoot the gap around my right side. But I don't play Nascar out there. I'm not putting another truck driver in a death situation. To assume everything will be okay is when you get bit in the arse. Stick to the book and the way you were trained. Forget about the monkey see, monkey do. It's kept me accident free.

There's thousands of drivers in heaven that thought nothing would happen to them. Why did I do that? I knew better...
