I have a solid 21 years experience with tractor trailer & straight truck tanker, dump, flat bed and lowboy but it is all local work. I have no points on my license, my problem is I call a otr recruiter either they wont give me the time of day or they treat me like I just got out of driving school. What would be a good compny to try, I know tt I need some training on e logs and stuff but not as much as someone fresh out of school. Im doing the oilfield thing here in Ohio but talk about inconsistent 12 hts onr dy none the next then 5 jhrs its crazy. Thnks for your answers

Try Schneider Bulk, that would be my first choice.
If that doesn't work, try these. They may offer you a refresher, then a few months later you can leave for greener pastures:
Paschall Truck Lines
Western Express
Pride Transport
Super Service -
Those recruiters know that with 21 years in , you will know when you're getting the shaft from a company , and as such you won't stay. Besides the level of pay that most of the companies that use recruiters will not be very high. Decent companies don't have to recruit help , or even advertize that they need it. Try some of the LTL companies , or the fuel haulers in your area , or if you don't mind some physical labor the food service folks close to you.

Carriers want to see multi-state experience. Knowing you understand logs and logging procedures, scale house rules, DOT/haz mat rules, dealing with a variety of different shipper and consignee types, city driving, snow/ice driving, etc.

Super Service wasn't bad when I was with them. You stayed out about 14 days with them and could take your truck by the house. Of course that was before Gainey took them over completely so don't know how they are now? I understand that the guy who owned Super Service then is still the CEO now so it may be the same? Actually I think they merged the two companies into one and called it Super Service? PTL will keep you running if you want to run but they want you to stay out for 26 days. Ive heard they cut your pay to .30 cpm if you run west of the Mississippi as a company driver but I cant substantiate that. PTL has E-Logs, not sure about Super Service? They had paper when I was there.
