Parked at the council bluffs ta tonight and there seems to be a lot of trucks parked idling. I'm with Roehl so we don't idle on break. Anyways its like 50 out tonight, its not really cold. Seems like they would want to save on fuel. Just curious I guess.

As long as you're cool spending $20/night ($6,000/year) on a vibrating bed.

Many people are just wasteful. Some have their reasons to idle. My idle percentage is pretty low. In the summer it will go up no doubt. I use my bunk heater and crack the windows when needed.

I park and leave it running with my marker lights on. Then I go in to take a shower lol. I do it to piss of rookies. I never turn the truck off. No need to. I get paid to drive and I do it comfortably driving or stopped.
I let it run so it drowns out people's door opening and closing and I sleep really good.

Tonight's low in Council Bluffs will be 32 degrees. I'd fire up the APU or idle the truck if I didn't have one.

"I do it to piss off rookies." Another senseless coment. Not everyone in the world is a rookie. It's not just 'rookies' that shut their engines off either. If I'm hot or cold I will idle the truck, as it stands now, I've had to idle the truck once in the last two months because of below freezing temps. Other than that, I've been using the Espar bunk heater, or opening the windows. I idle when need be.
