Will working for a temp driver agency for a month or so mess up other employment????

Not sure if this is the right subforum, but seemed to be a good fit.

    I have a strange resume.
I went to CDL school on my own dime, and then bought my trucks and trailers (semi with hydraulic tail dropdeck and a dump truck with equipment trailer) and basically did intrastate under my own DOT#, etc. But the business was actually using the equipment that I was hauling around. I put about 100,000 miles on each truck in about 4 years. I shut that business down two years ago and I haven't driven a CMV since.

The wife says "go get a job" and it's time to go get a job. I have a clean MVR and a clean CSA and here drivers are in high demand. But the hiring process nowadays is ridiculous and slow.

A local driver's agency that does everything from temp jobs to temp to hire to placements wants to hire me to do temp stuff which works fine with my current schedule.

BUT, I also have stuff pending with other companies for a permanent position (that all claim they want to hire me, but paperwork, etc, you know the drill).

Does taking the temp work with the driver agency (so just one employer, the agency) create issues with too many employers if I get hired in a month or so somewhere else??????? I have found pretty rapidly that having too many employers (driving jobs) on your resume is very bad in this world and it makes me wonder.

BUT the temp work would be good not only for the money but to knock some rust off, since besides the bus sized RV, i haven't driven anything big in 2 years.

    thoughts?????????

I don't have to work right now, today, but I need to be working by the end of the year.

If you work for a temp agency, the temp agency is your employer. You get paid from them, even though you're working for 2, 3 or 5 different companies. Just put down "only working temp while looking for full time position"

AMEN to this. I worked for a temp agency for several months, only one account, but it was a good one, and it certainly didn't hurt me at all in getting hired on down the road. You need the money now, well maybe you don't, but why wait until you do, if you can work now? Also, it sounds like a good way to get some refresher behind the wheel skill updates. I'd say go for it!
