I passed in the left lane because some stupid 4 Wheeler was going 10 under the speed limit (truck limit) and I passed on the left like I was told to. Basic knowledge, needless to say I got an officer that was having just a wonderful day pull me over and issue me a citation. It says I need to appear on September 30th..do they really expect me to go out of my way to come here and go to court? Is there a way to just pay the fine without? Any advice?

    Google : Ticket Clinic

I got a ticket like that in Tuscaloosa, AL and it said I must appear in court. I called a few days later and some woman said, yes you have to appear. I waited 5 minutes and called again and another woman answered the phone and said, you don't have to appear, just mail it in. I didn't tell her I had called earlier. Mailed it in and didn't hear any more about it.

I'm sure California is much higher, but what was the cost?

If you don't show up or have an attorney their for you , you will automatically get a point on your license., plus you'll still have to pay the fine around 450.00

I like Michigan, just write them a letter, gets reduced to just a fine and case closed. California sucks

California allows you to post the bail on the ticket and forfeit it by not appearing. Same as turning up and pleading guilty. Should be in the fine print at the bottom of the back of the ticket.

Wonder what the bail is? I'm probably going to wrote a letter anyways, not in the mood to drive to California on some #### load to go to court and lose more money.

They will send you the fine amount in the mail, and you can just pay the fine and not have to go to court.
