The other day at a Pilot I heard two employees complaining that no one left tips for cleaning the showers. I guess after the shower they expect you to leave money. I have no problem tipping but is this customary??? I never heard of it.

Not at all. Put it this way, when you have a ridiculously difficult, tight dock to blind side your 53' trailer, off of a city street in the middle of the morning commute, after you have set the brakes and are now waiting to be unloaded.... does anyone run up to your tractor and say "wow man, great job!" Here's a little something you earned
    FOR DOING YOUR JOB

    I don't tip waitors.
    Don't tip cleaners.

I do tip pizza delivey guys well. $5 minimum
IF it is on schedule & looks good. He deserves a tip. Put his life on the line to bring me that pizza.

If it doesnt look good I send it back.

I have tipped a cook many times. Waitors are very very rare.

I tip waiters/waitresses, barber cuts my hear, pizza person and loves tire guy. I hate going places like the Dairy Queen in my hometown and they have a cup that says, "tips please." If you have to ask I don't give them. My wife worked for Starbucks in a grocery store they weren't allowed to take tips.

I don't think so, I only tip for someone going above and beyond what is normally received. As for pizza guy, waiters and waitresses the tip starts at 15% and you get more for better service and less for crappy/rude service.

    flybynight1 and Maineman Thank this.

Eat at home or stick to fast food then. Tipping is customary in the states and that fact is reflected in the server's lower wage. No sense in punishing them because you don't agree with the practice.

I don't need that bureaucratic crap.

I wanna talk to the cook not the middle man.

Waitors screw it up like dispatch...which is why I call the customer and get my own refills like a big boy :)

    Maineman and flybynight1 Thank this.
