I have 4 months current experience after going through a refresher with PTL. 2 weeks ago I was arrested in Tennessee for driving on a cancelled CDL. Came to learn that I was supposed to send my medical card to the DMV which I didn't know because I had been out of country working for 4 years. I bonded out and got a lawyer. Got my CDL back. Tuesday the case was dismissed. Still PTL says I must send them a letter from the court but th court doesn't do that, only provide a copy of the court documents showing the case was dismissed. I must say they treated me like crap throughout this whole thing, even calling me a liar because I was taken to the station. Said I must have done something else, which I hadn't. The cop said the judge in that county ordered all this type offense be arrested. I have a perfectly clean CDL and no criminal record but no job. Had no performance issues while there. Seems like the safety dept there are being sadistic and mean on purpose. Don't really understand it but don't want to work for them anymore, anyway. Think I can get another job? It was an honest mistake.

Sounds like Coffee County in Tennessee. Known for massive corruption.

Try Western Express in Nashville and have all the documents to show what happened.

    Try these companies also:

    Ard Trucking Company
    Big-M Transportation
    Comet Transportation - Harvey, IL

sad to say this is pretty common practice for large carriers. They fight like dogs to get drivers in the seats, but doesn't take much to send you packing. You could try going up the chain of command. If you can get a meeting with one of the top dogs, just go in with your hat in your hand, apologize for your mistake that you weren't aware of new med requirement and thought your CDL was valid and you want your job back. Sometimes it's worth making them tell you no two or three times.

Don't think you need PTL any further. Demand for truckers as high as has ever been, companies pressuring their insurers to bend requirements, trying to be more realistic pay-wise.

Just be honest about it. PTL's loss is their gain. Your record is your record and it's clean.

Time to do some better research on kind of trucking YOU want to do. Whatever, it's out there. Job environment's very good. Better to go work for a better trucking company this time.

You have been done a favor. Go and find yourself a half-way decent driving job, from the comments that I have read, PTL certainly isn't a job to "cry over".

Put you location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.
What happened to you doesn't seem too serious except to a few of the mega carriers.

You don't need any recommendations from those who want to steer you to this company or that for WHATEVER reason. Just do your own research. Be honest. Apparently you had a CDL previously, did a refresher and have a fresh CDL now. No company is going to penalize you for leaving PTL, IMO.

Do your own thing. There's plenty of trucking other than OTR, too. Local outfits, home every night, construction, etc. You've got a little recent experience. I think you'll find you're in demand.

    Don't let anyone 'use' you.

In 2010 while in Atlanta my window saw smashed out of my truck and items stolen which value was still less than damage done to door. This makes me a victim, right?
My pistol was actually recovered 1 year later but you would not believe the way I was treated or hoops required to jump through to get it back. I doubt suspect was caused as much misery when caught.
I.E. good people who work and pay taxes are often treated as criminals when falling through the cracks. I feel your pain am have no doubt it happened just as you state.

"Best offense is a good defense" tjh just chalk this up to a learning experience, gotta stay on top it's your medical card and Cdl. I also have a builders license in Michigan and you have to take classes to stay updated on new regs and it's a royal pain in the arse. And that seems to be the norm lately, it's us against the Feds so stay on top and protect yours. Good for you for getting a clean 4 months under your belt not easy with all the distracted drivers impeding the roadways. You'll move on and then PTL will be calling you and begging you to come back, and all will be well in your world.

Have you checked your DAC to see what's on there?
The incident with JB Hunt; is it on there? I understand an incident stays on DAC for 7 years, but not sure.
