Can someone explain to me how someone without any driving experience or a cdl can give logical advice out to others? I see there are a bunch of people on here offering advice on great companies to drive for and life as a trucker, but they have zero experience. If I were a new or experienced driver I would not want someone who does not have a cdl or any sort of driving experience to help me out personally.
Why are people on here with no cdl or driving experience ever giving advice out?

otherhalftw, misterG, gpsman and 1 other person Thank this. -
how do you know they have no cdl or experience?
there used to be a time, when people had their info profiled. but when something was spoke. others would throw it in their face that they've been driving for however long and pursue some sort of argument.
as nice as it would be to see their experience or whatever. it's not worth the hassle.silver dollar and gpsman Thank this. -
Some that gives out advice has a. Spouce driving for a company so they take the words of what he/she says and some with zero exp gives out real good advice. Then some u just have to take with a grain of salt to keep peace. The purpose of this forum is to give advice and opinions and youvdont need to be a veteran to do so.Some of the jnewbies give out advice on a certain company because they are driving for that company and giving out advice of what they're going thru.I get a kick out of people that think veterans don't know anything.
semi retired semi driver and rocknroll81 Thank this. -
Judge ye not by the cover of a book.
But rather by it's contents which it puts forth.

I believe that everyone has something valuable to say, however, I have noticed that some here actually believe that because they have been at this for a long time that they know it all. This is just what it seems. They talk about how it used to be, how the industry has been ruined, how its this and that.
Times change and industries change along with it. I am a young guy just starting and I will admit I know not alot about this career right now except for what I have read, heard from others like my dad and I kinda just evaluate everything from all sides. I understand veterans are veterans for a reason and the last thing someone new wants to hear is how screwed up that person is for being excited about doing this.
From where I sit, bashing people and telling them how hard this is, how they will make no money, how not to trust anyone because everyone is out to stick it to the next guy, etc is not really giving any sound advice. Why would anyone put down someone who was where they were at some point. If someone chooses to work for 23 cents per mile or this carrier or that one, who is anyone to shoot those plans down???
On the other side of the coin, I believe people need to hear the horror stories and the experiences of others, just leave out the you'll be part of the same thing if you don't listen to what I am telling you.otherhalftw, OPUS 7, 77smartin and 7 others Thank this. -
I've been there, and done that to myownself. There's nothing quite like the sinking feeling in the gut of a reasonable person willing to take responsibility for their mistakes after learning they have assumed too much from too little information.AfterShock and AppalachianTrucker Thank this. -
This guy might have some advice to give, in the future, about what NOT TO DO when arriving to a low bridge?
