Do not go Texas if you don't have safety belt oin your sleeper birth.
Texas weight stations open again and screwing drivers.
Specially dont run trough Us 75/69.
If you even go be really careful.

Im not going Texas never ever again!!!

They don't understand, you don't need a safety belt when sleeping in a rest area.

Friend of mine got $600 worth of tickets at the inspection station on the North end of Hwy. 59 in a brand new truck. The DOT officers wrote him up for "potential" oil leaks in the future. He checked gaskets on the engine and said they look damp and could possible leak oil in the future. This is no joke, it really happened.

The worst times of the month for inspections are during the last week of the month. That's when the pressure is on for the "we don't have a quota" quota's to be met for the month.

A ticket for a potential oil leak? Is this legal? Will this hold up in court?

I'm normally very respectful of LEO. In this case though, I'd be tempted to tell the guy he might also want to punch me in the mouth, just to be safe. You never know, I might potentially bump into his wife in Safeway and we might potentially go back to her place, and she might potentially do some unspeakable things to me. You never know, potentially has a lot of potential.
