Can a permit be obtained for a 307" wheel base truck to go from the US thru Canada? Is there a overweight permit for Canada that can be bought for a trip to cover weights on a spread axle trailer?

Maximum wheelbase that can be permitted in BC is 285". You can buy a permit for anything over 244" for $30.00. Also you wheelbase of your trailer will be shortened when you have an over length permit for the tractor. My tractor has a 275" wheelbase and the wheelbase for the trailer is now just a hair under 40'. That is kingpin to center between axles on a tandem axle trailer. Again all this is for BC.

FYI- Canada is 4700 miles from one end to the other, and every province has different rules and regulations. For example, Ontario (and most of the eastern provinces) won't require an overlength permit, (if your trailer is shorter than 53') and spread axles are allowed with 22000# per axle. You will get into a world of hurt in Western Canada with a long wheelbase and a spread axle though.

A little more info on where in "Canada" you wanna travel would be good.

Which provinces do you need to go across? Is your trailer a standard tandem or a spread or ? How long is your trailer?
