Has anyone else experienced this lately? I will be driving along and all of the sudden a truck on the shoulder makes a hard left turn and comes out on the highway. Now I always make it a point to move over for any vehicle on the shoulder but twice I have been boxed in by another vehicle alongside me. Usually a truck on the shoulder will get some speed going before merging unto the highway but not the last three I encountered.:biggrin_25523: I must be an idiot magnet.

They are out there. You just have to be ready for them. Had a guy do it to me then said over the cb that he was afraid of getting shoulder debris in his tires. Duh. As opposed to getting hit by a 80,000 pound truck going at 65mph?

I also attract braindead zombies in 80,000 trucks
It was my first big wakeup call after being out on the road only a few weeks
from training school, guy pulled right out in front of me,i barely missed him.
Over the years ive learned to watch the behaviors of big trucks just as much as i do small cars.
Its happened several times since then over the years, they just start pulling out onto the highway
assuming you will yield so as to not kill yourself

That's why the center lane is usually the safest lane to be in when you're in moderate to heavy traffic situations. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

I sort of have been experiencing some of this idiots though.
For example this morning woke up and when trying to leave here comes a CRST, blocks me, then realizes he did wrong, backs up on 90 degree and gets stuck.
When finally got it going now here comes a schaeffer and blocks me again!!!
    I was pissed.
How bout this STR in ontario, went inside and took 35+ minutes to come out.
All other pumps were ocupied, I was able to switch, fueled up later and that STR truck was still there.. SMH!!

Me too, offramp on I-10, just coming off, driver turned hard left, no signal, didn't look I'm sure. I was pretty heavy, didn't hit (admit thinking about it). Really, it's sad to expect that and be ready to take evasive measures. You're still ahead of me, Rook, but I'll have 3,700m this week - plenty of time!

And unless it was a break down or emergency, why don't they go to an off- on ramp and pull off.

The even brighter ones are the drivers who go PAST the off ramp, slow down, cut across the on ramp and stop on the shoulder, then have to get going from a stop.
