so almost 2 years ago I failed a drug test for pot at the time I was working for werner well after almost 2 years of being clean and sober I decide to try to get back into truck so I go through hire right to get my dac and the failed drug test isn't on there... so the question I have is am I in the clear and should I try to apply to the bigger trucking companies cause ive had no luck at the lil ones seeing how I only had one year and 3 months exp.

You will be asked if you ever failed a drug test... to which you have...l you can tryand lie and say no you have never faileda drug test.... but, chances are they will find out and you will be terminated for falsifying information. ..

If I were you... I would only apply to companies where a 2 year old failed drug test is acceptable. ..

Hireright isn't the holy grail of reporting as some might believe. In this day and age of stored information that failed drug test lurks somewhere...and there will come a day when it magically appears. You failed a drug test in the trucking industry....don't lie about it...ever.

Unless you enroll in a SAP program, you will not be back. Maybe you'll use your head for something other to hold a hat on next time.

Even though it is not on your dac any company you apply with will find out the minute they contact Werner. That's one of the first questions they will ask.

Yep...and to add to this....Werner is not only 'obligated' to tell them...they are required by law. That's why Werner didn't feel it necessary to put it on your DAC, because they don't need to...when your next perspective employer sends the verification sheet to them, they will put it on there.

WRONG! There is a spot on the form that all companies are required to have filled out to meet the 3 and 10 year work history rule, and on that form it asks if the employee was subject to Drug & Alcohol testing, and did the employee refuse or test positive at any point during their tenure as an employee of the company. It WILL be asked, and it WILL be answered.
