I my self like to drive as hard as I can, especially the first couple of nights/days, not only to make sure that I get every thing done, but at the end of the week I get to see the family.

I usually have 10-12 stops per load, some times as much as 20 or so with two turn arounds. With a window of 8or9-5.

First night out- head out usually around 2200 running a provisional allowing me to make my first few drops the next day.
Paperwork's a ##### as I haft to fill out not only trip work for the company, but the lease company/penske as well, including an open log book, dvir's and returned items.

Second night usually run 11-14. Recap paper work with a 10hr. break. Get up around 8 there on after. 5 days a week sometimes 6. Usually running 2300-2500 miles a week.

How do you run and why and do you run open log's or computer.

I generally try to work 8 or 9 hours a day so as not to run myself out of hours. I'm not really sure why I do that because I typically end up resetting at some point anyway. I'd probably come out a little better money wise running my full 11 and picking up a couple hours of layover pay before my deliveries.

Not sure if you're talking weekly or daily, either way if I had to guess I'd say I avg ~2k miles a week. I honestly don't keep track. I try to drive 4-500 a day on longer runs, but it varies depending on time between p/u and delivery. Tanks, so only one stop. I only recall doing a split load 2 times, and one of those times both tanks were in the same plant so it wasn't a big deal.

Do they keep you out weekly, by weekly or what. Why do you run 8's.

ALL of our runs are 600-1100 one way and are round trips(deliver full totes[hvy 42-44K], get reloaded same place with empty totes for light run back[3-20k]!!!), I run till I get there...This was rare, but not too far off, as I had dr appt on Thurs and didn't want it to mess up this week, I drove Sunday thru Wednesday this week, 3870m(Louisville to Aberdeen, SD and back to sleep in my bed at home, Louisville to Wichita and back to sleep in my bed at home...I'm taking off Th, Fr and Sat, I'll go back out Sun, all my choice...The miles/wk are normal, just spread out a day or so more normally...Never less than 3500m/wk unless I feel lazy and if I didn't want to be home so much, I could run 4500-5000/wk and they would be shorter easier days, I just like being home and will bust butt to maximize that time...*asbestos suit on*

Do you run 8's or 11-14s? It's obvious you run 11-14 right.
