So last Tuesday I had 2 measly pallets to pick up in Maricopa, AZ at Santa Rosa Cooling.

Well thank you Mr Kennesaw from Georgia for being lazy and and blocking every single dock so you could fill out your paperwork for 5+ minutes, holding everyone else up. There were at least two of their trucks there late morning. The ones with the big gray Confederate soldier on the side of the reefer.

There was plenty of room to move your truck to the staging area and handle your business, but I guess I am the Yankee a-hole for asking you nicely to move. God forbid you think of others instead of yourself. If it wasn't for me confronting you you would have wasted another 5 minutes sliding your tandems as well in that very spot, that's how slow you move.

One of the first things I was taught in this line of work and is don't block people when not necessary, anywhere.

One would think common sense would tell you that anyway.

    Amen.

The first order of business when entering a customer yard, before checking in, is to find a place to park out of the way of other drivers. When you are assigned a dock get in as efficiently as possible. When you are loaded and ready to pull out get out of the way so the next driver has room to get in the dock.

Never interfere with the clock of another driver, whether at a customer, fuel island, or on the open highway.

After an attitude and trying to act like I was the bad guy, yes. As I said if I hadn't asked him to move he would have wasted another 5 minutes sliding his tandems in the same spot

It is amazing how folks do this,... all of the time. I understand in situations where one may have backed in off the main street/travel way and they have to close their doors. Yet, when it comes to sliding axles, it is common courtesy to move it on out and find a spot that will not obstruct another from performing their duties. Chances are the axles won't slide or they miss a hole. I've seen drivers lay the pallets over in an inclined dock and it usually always in the door assigned to you. Of course. As for Santa Rosa Cooler, you could fit trucks all the way down that washboard road.

It didn't get to him sliding his tandems, it was the fact that he was in the way in the first place and acted like it was no big deal when confronted with it. 2 trucks behind me also needed docks and needed him to move.

This one gets my blood boiling. Last week at the location I pick up at every day some guy decided to block the drive. This place has way too many racks outside in the way, but always keep enough room for two lanes to get in. One lane almost has trucks waiting to get to docks. No biggie as there is no other good place to wait. This guy parks in the second lane and when I told him to move his response was "Why can't they move" pointing to the line in the other lane. Took going into shipper to get them out there to move him...

One of my "pet peeves" as well. I used to pick up at a warehouse in Winona, Minn. with 4 docks, and one day while waiting to get loaded, a driver (?) pulled up and blocked all 4 doors, because, I figured, it was the closest he could get the door of his tractor to the "drivers enter here" door. I couldn't contain myself, and said, " You can't park there, what if someone has to get out"? With a confused look on his face, he backed up, and had to walk a hundred more feet to the door.

What the heck is wrong with drivers these days. They don't care how long they're blocking and don't care how many get mad.Don't block my way especially when im in a bad mood to begin with.Told a Hershbach off a while back. This guy was constantly in my way very annoying.I walk in to check in as Hershbach is walking out,he forgot something to got in my way to talk to the shippers,5 min there.I walk out moving forward and wouldnt you know it,Hershbach got it my way he gets out to move his tandems back then starts backing moving forward then backing, finally hes done.I get unloaded and sure enough hershbach does too he could have moved forward closed his doors moved his tandems but no he just had to wait till im out of the dock. Its tight about there so only one trk at a time can go in and out.
