Inter net says okay to park there. Called store. Manager says no problem. Went to Atlanta to see relatives. Swung by walmart to check on truck next morning. Car hauler unloading nearby was nice enough to come over and tell me the manager was banging on doors and had called the cops and tow compy. Went inside to speak with manager. Guy was a jerk. Seems like w.m. has many managers per shift and stores. I spoke on the phone the day before to the nice one I guess.

Moved truck. Got the last spot at the pilot. There were 5 other rigs parked at w.m. for the weekend.

    You just never know...

If by any chance you got the names of the two managers you spoke with, or even just the name of the jerk, drop an email to corporate Walmart. Complaint emails go to the office of the high mucky muck there, and they DO follow up on them. Just be sure to use your real name and a phone number where you can be reached. Otherwise, they will just round file your complaint.

Now that I've said that, I have to ask, could it have been a misunderstanding? Did you get permission to park there for overnight, (or "overday,") and leave it there for a few days? That certainly could make a big difference.

Cali is like that. I was parked and had just spent $150 in that store and this parking lot renta cop comes up and says I have to move. I tell him I just spent $150 in there and I'm putting my stuff away. He says he doesnt care, I need to move now or he'll have me towed.

So from one prick to another,. I tell him to go ahead and call. I'm not moving till I put my stuff away. So he huffs and puffs back into his little white sub-compact. I proceed to putting my things away. I finish and look out the window,.. he's still there. Says he called tow company and I'm going to be impounded. I say good,.. I guess I have time to brush my teeth. So I break out my tooth brush, Colgate and a bottle of water. Start brushing my teeth and spitting out right there beside his car. I rinse,.. take a swig of Listerine, gargle,. spit next to his car again. Then I calmly drive off.

Never saw the wrecker he supposedly called. One of my rare A-hole moments. Usually I'm a pretty mellow guy. Just get short tempered around guys like that.

Had a close call at walmart a couple months ago like that. There is one in Texas somewhere that told me parking was only allowed in the special marked spots behind the store. So I go in there and there are only four spots and three already were taken. So I lucked out.

Now I needed to make a delivery at this place but it was about 7 pm on a Friday so it was too late that day. Plus I needed to start my 34 hour break so that I would be ready on sunday morning to head out again.

So I did what any honest fellow would do and marked my delivery there completed, started my 34 hour break, then on Saturday morning I made that delivery and continued on with my 34.

The only problem now was once I finished unloading I discovered someone had taken my spot. So there was no way I was going to go messing up my 34 so I figured I would just go park in the front, there were a few up there anyways so I would go and huddle with them till the next morning.

It was around midnight that I hear a banging on my door and sure enough it was the security guy telling me I got to move. When he pointed out the wrecker hooking up to the truck beside me I made him no argument. I thanked him for the warning and fired up.

Crap I just need five more hours and these guys are serious. I am praying that one of the spots in back will be open so I limp it back there slowly and praise God somehow that exact same spot I was in earlier was vacant again. Soon as I managed to back up into it I recognized one of the other trucks from up front coming around back with the same idea in mind.

I hope he managed to find somewhere.

He wasnt large enough or man enough to do that to me. Wolf tickets was all he had.

I suppose if you gave me your bag of feces I could have tossed that at him.

I just don't understand why people seem to think Wal-Mart is a truck stop. Guys moan and complain if a 4wheeler comes and park in a truckstop but guys seem to think its just fine and dandy to park at a Wal-Mart and then feel like there feeling are hurt because they are told to move or not allowed. Yea I understand if you are just there to shop that's fine, as Walter from Jeff Dunham would say "Welcome to Walmart get your "stuff" and get the hell out. Next people will be complaining there are no showers but then again some don't use them either.

Many walmarts have truck specific parking and Walmart has always welcomed and invited trucks to park and shop there. Thats been a Walmart policy for 20 yrs as long as I can remember. It seems out west,.. particularly Commifornia where truck parking and local business seem to always bump heads. I mean up and down 5 and 99 there used to be parking areas for trucks only,.. then they closed them off with signs that said closed due to too much garbage dumped. To which I can honestly comment that I have been in those areas where the trash cans were over flowing. So maybe if they came and emptied them once in a while,.. there wouldnt be so much trash on the ground. Just an idea.

The only Walmart on the east coast that I ever had a problem with parking was in VA Beach. They had signs up,.. no truck parking. I was out of hours and no truck stop near. I went inside and asked the manager. He said I could park out back. They used to let trucks park there but prostitutes came and truckers were leaving carts full of their garbage instead of putting it in a dumpster or can. So often we are our own worst enemy.
