hi im trying to learn all i can , was wondering what method you guys and girls use and which is best. does floating the gears damage the transmisssion and does double clutching wear out the clutch faster? thanks

Just do it the way that makes less grinding sounds untill you can do it both ways without any feed/back in shifter, tester will want to see you use the clutch on test drive!

I float the gears, but sometimes I need to use clutch, just don't tell anyone.

Learn how to shift then learn what works best for you.When I first started I double clutched and still grinded gears.Now I prefer floating.I focused on getting better and less on how other drivers do it because believe me in time you will be at top speed.Just don't try so hard to get there it takes times.

I never learned how to double clutch. Learned with the float, stayed with the float.
