strangest thing happened today. I ran the whole toll road from Fremont to portage.my company doesn't have EZ Pass, but when I pulled up to the booth to pay with cash, the automated machine didn't even want to read my ticket.
it's then that I noticed that the gate was open, green light was on, saying izoom or I pass whatever accepted, as if it had already been paid. Wth? well I wasn't going to block a lane for 10 minutes, in the howling wind the today, and try to talk on their useless intercom to somebody 100 miles away through a McDonald's style drive thru speaker.
so I took off, but I still have my ticket.
has anyone else ever had this happen? The only thing I can think of, is that it read somebody elses transponder in a different lane, or somebody pulled up into my lane, and backed up before I got there. So maybe the machine thought a vehicle was stuck there and hadn't moved?
I looked at the website for the Indiana toll road, they don't even have a phone number to call as far as I can see. they do have a way to search for unpaid tolls, but my ticket isn't showing up.
