LOL how many edits or tries did he do before they got it perfect? Basically you set it up just like you do for a driving parking test. You do this at this time and then cut it when you see this type of driving. How do we know he isn't using a marker to begin the jack knife? Once the tandems on the trailer starts to pivot its stuck. I could get close I've had to do the reverse part 360 to get turned around plenty of times. Not to say this isn't pretty cool.

I had to do that for my state DOT backing portion of the test...except I was in a 379 Peterbilt with a blindfold on...oh I also had a boiling hot cup of coffee in my right hand...and I didn't spill a drop!!!

If there were actually as many good drivers as yall claim to be, I wouldn't be late. Truth of the fact is that I'd say a good portion of drivers, especially OTR drivers, can't even back a straight line to save their lives, and watching some line haul drivers back is just as depressing.

If you want to be a pro at backing like the driver in this video, get a city job and bump 20+ docks a day for 3 months, if you can last that long.

Its a big lot with no traffic & nothing to worry about.

It's all on the sight side.

Hard right. Hard left. Straight back.

Wet the pavement so as not to scrub off too much rubber.

Somewhere on YouTube is a video of one US trucking company's precision backing practice exercise. This one is one of those things done by a foreign trucker who has practiced many, many times to impress a YouTube audience. It's also a good exercise in truck control to do if you have a large, generally open area.
