Talking about things you do when you drive that you do out of habit.
- I turn my headlights on when in "safety corridors" even when the signs don't ask for it.
- I ride one lane over on a 3+ lane freeway if I'm running at the speed limit and if trucks are allowed to pass on the left. If I'm running below the speed limit, I will run in the right lane.
- If I am merging into a freeway and a truck moves to the left, I will hold back until that truck passes and moves back to the right before I go back to my cruise speed.
-I will flash a truck back with my high beams during the day and with cutting my low beams with the interrupt switch.
- I only use my fog lights in rain/snow/fog or when using the factory auxiliary driving lights since Volvo wires them into the same switch and they come on when switching from high beam to low beam.
- If I am stopped on the shoulder, I don't merge back into traffic until I reach 40 mph.
- I check my tire pressures at every pre trip.
- I thump the trailer tires at every fuel stop.
- I padlock the trailer both when loaded and empty.

Always ran with headlights on when on ANY two lane highway. Still do that in my POVs.
Stay in right hand lane on freeways as much as possible. I've seen a couple of wrong ways, and if you're on a corner or hill, it is easier to avoid them if you're in the right lane. Unless they are suicidal, they are likely to be in their right lane as well. (I learned that lesson that hard way in I-8 west of El Centro, in radio car responding to back up CHP.)NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I turn on my lights day and night. Sometimes I forget, but the majority of the time they're on.
FatDaddy Thanks this. -
In my POV, I leave the headlamp switch on all the time as Toyotas have auto off headlamps. I'd rather have true DRLs but the Japanese like negatively switch circuits and relays which make wiring aftermarket systems a bit complicated. Mine is a 1997 Camry and toyota didn't add them until 1999. Oh well, I call how mine work the Scandinavian style DRL system, lol. -
I try to stay out of the pack.

I like to keep my trailer locked also loaded or empty.
Except lately, the Salt and crap they put on the roads, and the locks don't get along very well.ShortBusKid, Ebola Guy and NavigatorWife Thank this. -

1. See how many gears I can grab from the entrance of the truck stop to the fuel island.
2. Drive slow on the 2 lane. Then mash that motor when a passing lane comes up.
3. When merging on highway. 3 blinks move over no matter how many school buses have to swerve and slam on brakes.
4. Putting cruise on so you can retrieve your phone from the bunk.
5. Do all the above while filming and talking to my go pro. So I can have content for my you tube channel.bigdogpile, cnsper, Hammer166 and 20 others Thank this. -
