Fast food??? Pizza Delivery, retail....see if your company will hire to clean terminal etc.

unemployment, you should qualify for medical reasons. I'm sure your doctor has given you a new diet and exercise program. Good luck.

You have type 2? if so are you on pills or shots? Under control is lowering your A1C, what was it when tested? there is a waver that can be applied for to let you keep driving in state, check with dot med online.

Many hospitals have free class on how to handle having it at first, some work on dock can help you back in shape, amer. diabetes association or their mag. find a good diabetes doc. that will give you the correct type of meds,

Uber.com if your car is in pretty good condition.
Some courier services don't require a CDL; Google for those. -
Keep it simple: 1), Buy a stationary Bike, work it 3x per week, (try to get up to :90 min of continuous activity per session.). 2), Food: no fried food, eat alot of greens 3x per day, 3), increase your daily fiber intact. 4), Eat raw green bananas once daily, (resistant starch). (no soda pop). Invest in your health while off from work.
