As much as I hate changing jobs AGAIN.....I had to resign from my current employer!

Things started out pretty normal the first few weeks then I started seeing how they really are.

One thing that got me in the beginning was that the great benefits they offered was signing up with Obama care! WTH!
I had to pay my first month out of my pocket....almost 500 bucks and they never helped a dime with that!

The head dispatch lady was.......well just a hateful old hag!

My truck,The ProStar was just recently bought used along with 3 others and they have never owned any of those before.
My first couple weeks i ask if they could put shocks on it...still had what looked like original and rusted apart with 500k on them.
Was told that if they are not leaking oil they are not wore out!.....BS!
My seat was broke......never got fixed.

Then computer issues started that left me with no heat,no jake,no cruise and several other things..
I got in Thursday night and had let the owner know about the truck problems so it would be fixed over this past weekend.

I go in early yesterday morning, load my stuff in the truck and start it up.
    Engine fan still roaring!
Let it run an hour and temp gauge never moved...So with a broken APU and no heat at idle I was getting upset.

Called the owner and he instantly got an attitude with me!
I had to run to Cleveland and Michigan with no heat!...Oh,hell no!

Asked him why my truck was serviced over the weekend but the real problems not fixed.
He said he only had one mechanic that could use the laptop on the trucks and that he did not show up all weekend.

I asked if he was paying hotels this week and he laughed and told me to drive it like it was or clean my stuff out of it!

So,You know where that went! In the freezing rain I was stripping my stuff out and packing my SUV....

I see now why out of a fleet of 30 trucks there are always empty trucks in the back row.
He stated one day that he wished he could keep good drivers....I see why now!

I ran hard, was always early on every load and thought things were off to a decent start....

Now my record is going to look like I'm the monthly job hopper!....:biggrin_25513:

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Given the same circumstances, I would have done the same thing. With your experience you should have no trouble getting on with a decent carrier Good luck!

Thanks! I must just be retarded when picking these places!:biggrin_25522:

I have a couple leads on jobs and talked to a couple already but about afraid to choose!

I could go back to a job I had a couple years ago.....It kinda sucked but hourly pay.
Talked to them and now they pay 20% of the loads......bummer!

Two other drivers on the yard agreed......they would have cleaned it out too.....
They both expressed they were looking themselves for better places.

I responded to an ad online yesterday....home every weekend and great pay and equipment in Charlotte.
    It was Carol Fullmer...
They have a 12 truck yard in Charlotte....The recruiter is begging me to come aboard....I know nothing about them and thought they were all owner ops.

Man EZ Money that really sucks, hope it gets better for you soon.No matter how much drivers are needed in this industry they will never get the pay and respect they truly deserve. From one job hopper to the next, yes it'll look like your job hopping but its not your fault in this case, your company drove you to it.If you have a pretty good record with the other places you have worked then this job won't affect you getting hired.I'm close to calling it quits for good in trucking. Its getting worse not better and see no lite at the end of the tunnel.Truckers are treated with little to no respect.

If people just RESPECTED each other not only would more drivers not hop around but people in general would be more pleasant. Respect and he'd still be there.

The problem as I see it is trk drivers are way more respectful then they should be to the company they're employed at because more times then not they don't get the respect back.

    I agree 100%...
Respect in trucking has went down the crapper years ago!

I even asked the owner if he would run over to the yard and let me hook the laptop to it. I got a hell no on that!
HeavyD had already told me what to check in Insite to fix the problem....I'm a mechanic on the side, very good with computers and have worked on many trucks....
I have worked with Cummins Insite myself many times.
This guy was an azzhat! Sounded like he had been on a drunk all weekend and told me he was not coming to the yard on his day off!
That is zero respect from the owner to a 30+ year veteran driver!

I was running hard and even hot on the logbook just to make appointments.....they never looked at available HOS on the drivers..
All of that for about 700 a week bring home...I knew this was a BS job weeks ago.

I have 0 points on my MVR and my PSP is good.
Something will come along but I'm to the point of just saying to hell with trucking!...

    Ok....rant over...lol!

    lmcclure1220 and Mudguppy Thank this.
