Im needing some 411 on where to start looking here in atlanta/marietta ga area for beginner driving jobs. I have had a Class A cdl the last 8 years working with the city municipal, clean mvr, but no over the road experience or verifiable proof of hauling experience which stops me from applying on apps when I see that as one of the requirements. The city doesnt give us any paper work showing our experience of commercial driving with dump trucks, and heavy equipment hauling, Im ready to put my class A's to work and have a better income but need advice on what steps to make first to get something going. Im going to get my tankers, hazmat endorsements, fuel delivery would be a nice option or some type of dry good or material hauling. Then again I probably dont have much choice with no record of experience. Any advice will give me a direction to start in.

You will more than likely have to go to driving school or find a refresher course, the only experience that is used is driving a class A, not city trucks, you would have to go out with a driver trainer for a few weeks if you were looking to go over the road. This will all depend on the company and what you are looking fro. U S express has openings and they have routes in theat area, but that is the only one I know for sure. I know there has to be more out there you just have to hut it down.In the long run it will be worth it. Hang in there!
