I can imagine.I sure wouldn't scab for any company on strike. My brother was on strike yrs ago at IBP now called Tyson. He said the picketers would follow the scabs home. One scab got his car torched.Another one got his car completely stripped.Cops found it the next day in a cemetery.

Well I live an ocean away from you in the strike capital of the world.
Every year we dodge picket lines.
You don't cross them here and live a long life.
Year before last the worlds largest platinum producers shut down an entire region for 5 months.
Last year the country's largest union shut all industries that had anything to do with steel down for a month.
The biggest problem is that they attempt to force any company to shut no matter if all their employees want to work.
They are willing to use deadly violence on anyone.
We just scout an area before sending our trucks in but we have at least one close call every year.
Nothing serious yet but trucks hurled with rocks costing a few windscreens.
Cant be fun for the drivers.

I've crossed several picket lines during my career. I take it as a personal affront when someone or a group wants me to sacrifice just because they're unhappy. I don't hesitate to cross a picket line & even did it when I was briefly in a union and it was horrible working with a bunch of crybabies; some older than me. If you don't like your job, then leave; don't expect the rest of us to bow down to you as if you're more important than us. If I can't do my job because you're too miserable and weak to man up and change jobs; don't expect me to sacrifice part of my next paycheck by trying to stop me from doing my job.

I like crossing picket lines at grocery stores ! The way I see it, the union people have a right to strike if they're not happy, BUT, the consumers have a right to still shop. Most union strikers are following the orders of union management anyway.

I've hauled in & out of job sites being picketed by lazy union thugs with a sense of entitlement...even walked my dog over there to drop a deuce right where they were gathered (closest grassy area). They tried acting tough, but really weren't all that intimidating. The next trip? They were sitting in their cars across the street.

I don't care if they want to "follow me home"...got 3 dogs that are pretty good about alerting me to anybody that comes within 100' of my property, and my bite is a hell of a lot worse than the dogs. I've had enough run-ins over the years with various sorts around here that I've got a bit of a reputation in town...even LEO's are EXTREMELY cautious if they feel a need to approach my property. Union thugs? I'm not too concerned.

I delivered a few loads to Von's grocery stores when they were on strike in California. Loved every minute of it. Candy loads I picked up in Kentucky.
