Helwig looks decent from what I have seen of them.
Looks like good equipment from there you tube video.

Hard to say really about any of these big fleets.

    Jasonohio Thanks this.

pulling a reefer OTR is a bad idea unless you enjoy waiting endlessly and being treated poorly by most shippers and receivers. For that reason alone I'd opt for Hummer.

    Jasonohio Thanks this.

Hummer runs reefers also. Worked for them for 14 months, got all the miles I could handle, ran elogs and a lot of freight from Iowa to NJ, PA, NY and CT. Also ran a lot from Iowa to California.

Reason I left was their equipment was set up wrong. Super singles and one drive axle and a tag axle is a recipe for disaster running I-80 in the winter. Refused to run another winter in a truck set up like that.

Pulled reefer for years.....Not much different than dry van as far as wait times.
    I guess I was lucky!
Reefer freight out of Cali sucks though, run all over doing pick ups to head back east.

Ended up on a dedicated pulling Dole out of Florida....that was a good gig.

Op did you ever make a choice? Also, is Don Hummer really as good as advertised? Seems not kich about them negative or positive.

I called led guess it's a rent a car and drive to iowa for me that would be from MA. Idk that's a haul. All exspenses paid. They have some standards after looking on their site. Not bad.

    Any drivers out there?
