Has anyone been involved in a "fender-bender" where you hit someone at Private Property while he was parked? Is this DOT-recordable?

Police came out and issued a "Driver Exchange Information" report.

Destroyed the fender/bumper pretty darn bad. Will live with the consequences as I am to blame for this - but will this also effect my record and my companies CSA?

Your company may list it on your dac. And they'll probably report it on future employment verification requests. Probably won't show up anywhere else.

It shouldn't affect your record if you have a good record prior to this accident.

I don't think the DOT has any jurisdiction here. It would be just like if you hit another truck at a truck stop. I imagine your company will consider it a preventable.

I wish I could tell you for certain but the one time it happened to me the driver of the 4 wheeler decided to pull his car into my trailer's off track and "park". He got his wife's car written off for his effort. Turns out it he had no drivers license. Needless to say there were no police involved and I never got a chance to find out what you're asking.

It's not DOT reportable. If your company used DAC it will be listed as a preventable.

Jesus christ... CSA is ONLY when you get INSPECTED by a DOT officer!

So you're saying a company's CSA score doesn't take a 'hit' if each one of their trucks causes a wreck on the road??

well first information exchange is not an actual police report. second a dot reportable accident would consist of either injuries, property damage that the vehicle needs to be towed or both. So this will not show up on your drivers record
