There are many truck driving jobs and many different types of driving jobs,,some are better or worse than others.
Big general freight hauling carriers are driver mills,,all they care about is moving as many loads as possible with salaries and rates that are about the same as the rest and most have high driver turn over rates.

Some of the best paying driving jobs and many with better working conditions for drivers are private carriers, Companies that haul their own freight, have dedicated runs and generally pay better, go to this link and check out the top 100 private carriers,
If you see a company that interest you even if you do not see any of their jobs advertised in magazines or websites looking for drivers apply anyway.
Many private carriers never advertise for drivers because they have low driver turn over and generally have drivers waiting for their jobs,

I see Sysco and Pepsi is on the list of good companies to apply which I applied to both.Sysco I did yesterday. They had an ad on craigslist. So I call there number 3 times and got the same message leave your name and number and we'll call you within 24 hrs.I spent over and hr with ABF app today and because I was so slow I got a time out and lost my work history but all the other stuff was saved.I wouldn't have taken so long if they didn't make each job history a good 10 minutes to fill out.Why cant things just be basic anymore.

Several of those hire in my area, one just up the street that I thought about. But I am going for one that did not make the list, but that could just be that they are still not quite large enough. Will have to wait and see. Publix is the one closest. I hear they are pretty good, use to be great. But from everything I can gather the pay has changed and not nearly where it use to be. So I went for another.
