Hey guys, I found 2 different login locations on the FMCSA websites. It looks like one is for SMS BASIC score monitoring and the other Im not sure because I cant get in, password problems.
My main thing is, what portal or where do I go to update my miles? I was told by the FMCSA that they dont have an update for a few months of last year and that updating them should lower my BASIC scores.
If you guys an agency or something for this let me know, like a 3rd party, I can use some help. I already use someone to do IFTA stuff but they couldn't help me with these 2-3 months of miles the FMCSA said they didn't have an update for.
Where to update my miles to lower my BASIC scores?

miles has nothing to do with scores.
inspections do. they go up and up and up. only time will lower it. provideing they haven't gone up. -
Go to http://www.safersys.org/query.asp and search you company by name/mc/dot.
Or search on company snapshot on google.
On 1st paragraph click on mMC-150.
This is the form you will donmost of your update.
Go all the way down tjat page and check box *I need to update my USDOT number registration information or file my biennial update(MCS-15* and click file electronicically.
You will need a pin which was supplied with your MC.

2) VMT is Under-Reported.
VMT stands for Vehicle Miles Traveled. On your MCS-150, you report your VMT for the last calendar year. If the last reported total is lower than it should have been OR you have results for the next calendar year that are higher than the previous year, your CSA scores are likely worse than they should be.snowwy Thanks this. -

i always thought scores were strictly violations.

Violations per VMT is a large part of the equation, as is number of trucks (which puts you into your peer group). Allot of information goes into the program and the numbers. They will not release their full methodology, nor the actual equation. So the 3rd party company's that do things like driver score cards are just guessing. Yea, they know what the violations are and the points, but that is only part of the equation.

That should cover it, since it is turned in to the FMCSA
