Hello fellow drivers! It's been a while since I've posted a thread here, and I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice. My girlfriend would like to come with me over the road, but the company I'm currently working for doesn't allow riders. I currently haul a tanker, and I love my job, but from what I've seen it looks like a lot of company's in this particular industry don't allow riders. Do you know of any company's that haul tanker/hazmat that allow riders? I use to haul flatbed for Melton and I really enjoyed my time with them and I know they have a great rider program and if I can't find a tanker job that will allow me to take my girlfriend with me I'll probably go back to Melton. So any advice would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.

Melton has driver facing cameras now.
A&R Logistics allows riders; non-hazmat tankers.
Don't know of any hazmat tanker outfits; maybe there's some. The chemical plants I've been to don't allow riders or pets inside.
Holland Enterprises has rider policy starting with day one. Trucks have Tripac APU's, xm radio, TV,
maybe refrigerator.
Pride Transport=xm radio,refrigerator,satellite TV.

mje you bring up a valid point. But at the same time, we risk getting into a serious accident no matter what we are hauling. I mean they say truck driving is 30% what we're doing and 70% anticipating what the other idiot is going to do. Hazmat or not she is still taking a risk and she understands that. I just really enjoy what I do now. But I'm open to all options. Chinatown I had heard Melton was getting the driver facing cameras before I left I didn't think about that, but I will take a look at A&R thank you.

Just tell those places that have the "No Riders" policy that she is your "Lumper". You drive, She loads/unloads.
